Egypt Beats Iraq 4/0 and Wins the Tenth Arab Championship for the Five-a-side Football After beating the Iraqi team 4/0, MCDR's football team won the Arab Championship cup for the Five-a-side football, in a celebration held in Portsaid as part of the governorate's celebration of October Victory.Governor of Portsaid, General Moustafa Abdel Latif, handed the cup to Mr. Mohamed Abdel Salam, MCDR Chairman and Managing Director. The event was attended by many sportsmen and officers in the Corporate Union and Portsaid governorate, headed by: Eng. Salah Hasab Allah, Union President, Dr. Hosni El-Ghandour, General Secretary, and Dr. Tarek Abdel Bari, MCDR Managing Director.Road to Championship Being the Champion of the State, the MCDR team has participated for the first time in the Arab Championship representing Egypt. The team could successfully beat the other four teams in its group: Tunisia 6/0, Iraq 6/1, Lebanon 8/0, and Algeria 8/1. The team reached the final stage to meet the Iraqi team that beat El-Rashidi El-Mizan team (Cup Winner) 6/7, by resorting to shootouts, as the original match timed ended by 3/3.In the final match, MCDR team played a wonderful and highly technical and moral game. The first half of the match ended by 3/0, and the team finalized the match by winning 4/0. Player Ahmed Hussein scored 2 goals, while players Sameh Saleh and Moustafa Karika each scored a goal.Lead by Mr. Mohamed Magd El-Din, the general supervisor, Mr. Sameh El-Azab, the general coordinator, Captain Koka the technical manager, and Captain Zakareya Hussein the coach, the technical and administrative staff played a key role in preparing the team to win. The audience and MCDR's employees also played an important role by politely encouraging their team throughout the match. Mr.Mohamed Abdel Salam met the team to congratulate them for winning the cup for the first time in the history of the Arab Championship. Mr. Abdel Salam praised the Iraqi team for its good performance during the match. As a kind gesture, Mr Abdel Salam and Dr. Tarek Abdel Bari thanked the Iraqi team for participating in the championship and their enthusiasm. They head of the Iraqi delegation and the team congratulated the MCDR team and presented flowers for Mr. Abdel Salam and for the audience. Mr. Abdel Salam declared that MCDR is proud to have such a team to represent one of the Investment Authority entities, sponsored by Dr. Mahmoud Mohey El-Din, Minister of Investment, and the supervision of the Egyptian Capital Market Authority (CMlatA), headed by Dr. Ahmed Saad Chairman of the CMA.By participating in the championship for the first time and winning the cup, MCDR team will represent Egypt in the coming World up and the Arab Championship to be held in Tunisia in the coming round.
